Rear passenger vent delete?

I will be replacing the worn carpet with rubber flooring in my new-to-me bronco II.
I was wondering if I should keep the rear passenger floor vent..

We don't usually have passengers, and wonder how effective this little vent really is.
If I was ever going to remove it, now's the time

Just looking at your picture, I'm gonna say it does quite a bit if you have working AC. That said, my truck struggles to have enough airflow in the cab to keep the windows defrosted. So blocking it might help there and eliminate a point of failure.

Yes on working AC, but don't use it that much.

Will do some testing today...maybe block the rear passenger vent, and see if I notice anything in the front.
I'm scheduled to bringing the truck to the upholstery guy tomorrow, so need to decide today.

I thought about removing mine in my Choptop, but I’ll probably just build a low console over that area and call it good

Just looking at your picture, I'm gonna say it does quite a bit if you have working AC.

I'm not sure that it does anything for A/C. Aren't they connected to the vent outlet that is down on the transmission hump under the dash? Pretty sure that one only provides floor heat and vent. Nothing directed to it when AC is on.

It does blow colder air, when A/C is on.
I just think the rubber flooring would be much cleaner with the rear outlet and ducting removed.
If I remove it, I imagine I would have to cap the output port where the ducting begins.
There are attachment points, so making a cap should be easy...

Cool, I guess those HVAC plenums are setup different. Might have to investigate that before I pull the duct work out of the console I got to install in my 99 Ranger. If it can spread the AC more, it might cool the cab down quicker on those hot summer days.

I know trhe floor vents under the front seats don't seem to do much for the rear passengers in the 2019. It's a constant balancing act with the vent setting distribution to keep the rear passengers happy.
