I recently got my truck inspected and the guys down there said it's time to do something about the rotting out of the rear crossmember in between the frame rails on the back of the truck, sorta behind the rear bumper. I've been keepin an eye on it for a while and it has steadily gotten worse, tried lookin around for a new but didn't have much luck. Am I better off finding someone to fabricate their own crossmember or should I go to the dealer to find a new one?

Make one. It's just a piece of metal to keep the frame rail from flexing. Any piece of metal to span the distance will do.

get a piece of 2x4 stock, cut to lenght and weld inside fram rails....takes about 30mins
