Rear end swap

Good Morning would like to ask for help from you Ford experts in here ok here is my situation I am currently doing a rear end swap on my 1953 dodge meadow Brook car I was told a ranger rear end would work so I purchased a used 1988 for ranger rear end and am currently trying to see what needs to be done so far I understand I will need to change flange to differential as well as need to cut and re weld the perches for my u bolts and brackets for my shocks and add some spacers to get my wheels to fit where they were but here is where I need the experience of you in here would it be possible to also use the leave springs from the ranger and just add new brackets as well to my '53 frame that way I can use hopefully rear end and leave springs any help would be greatly appreciated thank you all also I am adding the pictures of what i have tooken so far as well as pictures from my '53 manual specs

I don't know anything about a Meadowbrook. It looks like you need the axle on top of the leaf springs. It might save you some work if you start with an Explorer axle. You could even get one with disc brakes if you want.

Never heard of one either. Cool looking car, definitely 50s style. Just out of curiosity what is the WMS to WMS of the original axle? (wheel mating surface)

Dvdswan yeah she does but with a little work and dedication so will maybe one day look like a poodle lol

I put an 8 inch Mustang rear under my Ranger, bolted on top of the springs. I got a pair of 65-6 Mustang spring perches and welded them on so I didn't have to be gentle cutting off the originals. Just double check the center bolt hole first- I had to grind them out after they were welded on- and be fussy measuring the pinion angle, you can get angled shims to correct it some but it's easier to just bolt it in. You don't need a new pinion flange, just use the companion flange like the Ranger did.
