cant figure out these damn brakes everything looks good small shoe up front longer one in the rear the brakes looks good and worked fine in the eplorer.. everytime i hit the brakes it feels like the rear end wants to come out and say hi.. my truck is an 85 and the axle came out of a 92 explorer does the master cyclinder in the explorer put less pressure to the rear then the ranger master cuclinder im a little stumped:shok::huh:

Are the rear brakes adjusted properly?

yeah there good but if i losen them a LOT then they dont lock up and the act normal, but they never locked up in the explorer

Sounds like one of several things.

Sticky wheel cylinder (not retracting with the pressure of the return springs)

Beat return springs--I've always recommended full hardware kits when changing shoes.

Parking brake way out of adjustment (I've seen idiots use the parking brake adjuster to adjust the rear shoes, and give me a blank stare when I ask them if they know what a star wheel adjuster is)

Just a few ideas for ya.

thanks ill double check the parking barke but thats not how i ajusted the rear brakes lol i thought maybe the explorer had a Proportioning valve that i needed or somthing.
