im lookinf or a rear drum to disc brake conversion that wount breakthe bank any info will be appricated

The cheapest thing to do is swap in a 96' up 8.8 w/ discs. But why do you need dsics in the rear? You stock brakes should stop you well enough. Not to mention, you'll have proportion problems at first.

well for the fact that im damn sick and tired of putting in drum brakes and they aret the best for mudding

I would like to have discs in the back to. Improved stopping power is always a plus! I have a 9inch rear end with drums, does anyone know of a quality disc conversion for that axle?

stopping power is limited by the amount of friction your tires can provide against the roads surface...in other words, you will lock the tires up long before you "run out" of brakes...even with 33"+ tires.

disks just add the complexity of getting the proportioning right and splicing e-brake cables.

I've upgraded all my gen Is to 10" drum. I should never have to replace the shoes. The trucks will rust apart first

You can use the discs off of a 95+ explorer 8.8 on a 9", they will bolt right up to the axle flanges, but you will have to do something to make the rotors fit as the bolt pattern is differernt
