New guy here with a 2001 Ranger 2wd flareside 3.0 / auto regular cab. I need some help finding a chrome rear bumper for my flareside. Any assistance is appreciated.

Junk/Salvage yard for used/cheap.
LMC Truck Parts, Ranger Catalog, page 64, for new/OE style...but expensive...$400.00 plus shipping.
OUCH !!!
Check E-Bay or your local Craigs List for Ranger part-outs.
Also, google up "Ford Ranger Flairside Rear Bumper" and mucho bunches of sites come up for styleside and flairside.

Apparently the flareside is a unicorn. A styleside bumper & pad is $200 but a fireside is $400. I've scrounged local salvage & CL but striking out at the moment.

Stomped around another pick apart today that supposedly had one. After 45 minutes taking in the scenery and all the wonderful aromas of a salvage yard, my search turned up...........empty again.

Quite a few rangers, but no a single flareside in the bunch. I never realized the flareside was this "special". My Googlefu turns up a lot of shiny chrome, but when you go to the sites they're all for stylesides.

IDK if I've ever seen a flareside with chrome bumbers

There's probably one in your local Wal-Mart parking lot occasionally. But you have to be fast and brave.

You are aware that Ford outsources the rear bumpers. They may make the bumpers for the front, and newer rear, but the rear bumper that came on your 2001 Flare Side was made by outside vendors.
You might check other makes that made Flare Side body styles for bumpers. After all, the only thing that might be different is the mounting hardware.

Look for bumpers from Chevy/GMC S-10/Sonoma , Toyo's, ect. You just need one that is the same width as your Flare Side came with.
Also, google up "chrome tube bumpers"

Many sites come up with bumpers for everything from Jeeps to full size. Maybe you can find one with the right width to fir the Ranger.

I did a bit of google searching, and Ford did offer a painted and a chrome rear bumper for the 2001 flareside Ranger. Chrome is discontinued but the primed/ready to paint are still available. Pricy, but out there.
Ford Part # YL5Z-17906-KA. The part # for the chrome flareside bumper is #YL5Z-17906-HA.

I just bit the bullet and ordered a chrome one with new pad and mounting brackets for $375 shipped. Cheapest I could find and it was the last one in stock. The next cheapest I could find was nearly $500 from a local body shop. I'm not enthused at all about $375 but I'm tired of looking at it bent up. Fortunately it didn't get into the fiberglass fender so I've got that going for me.

Now 10 of them will pop up on Craigslist for $50!
