Hey guys,

Kind of a random question... Anyone know how tight to torque the 4 bolts that hold on the rear bumper ('94 4x4 ext cab w/ 4.0, 5 spd)? These are the 4 bolts (2 per side) that go up from the bottom through the frame rails, and thread into the clips (similar to how the bed bolts on). Had to take my bumper off while replacing rear springs. I tow from a bumper hitch 2-3 times a year so I want to make sure I've got it right.

For now I think I'll put them at 50 ft-lbs or so. Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

I'd say tighter than that. IIRC they are fairly large, like a 3/4" head maybe?

I'd suggest 90 ft*lbs if thats the case.

The torque specs for rear bumper: 84 to 112 ft-lbs

I just tightened mine by hand. It's a tight spot so when I couldn't tighten anymore I stopped. I just used my 1/2 drive ratchet. If your worried you can always check them now and then.
