Men; I have a 84 R short bed. A S model air force ret. pickup. The rear axle code is E8. Can not find any info on this. Any help.

I couldn't find an e8 code until '92. Are you sure you are reading it properly? Where did you find the code?

The number came from left door. No tag on rear end. v6 auto if that helps.

Could you post a pic of the tag? Also post the vin, there are vin # checkers that will give all the info on your truck.
