I have an 88 2wd ranger planning on a 302 swap wanted to put an 8.8 rear in the truck, is there any rear that will bolt right to the leaf spring and will not need mounts welded on the axle, didn't know if newer ranger rear will fit right in or not,
Kenny

The 8.8" from a '90-'92 4.0L Ranger would be a direct swap into yours, however the later pinion flange will be a bit bigger (you'll need to change the u-joint flange on your driveshaft).

'93up 8.8s can be bolted into your truck as well, although these axles have a 2" wider overall width than your '88 axle.
