My 92 4x4 Ranger has developed a hum in the rear axle. The hum only can be heard in a right turn. No noise in a left turn or in a straight line. Replaced the left axle bearing yesterday with no change in the hum. The axle shaft was in good condition.

sounds like wear in the diff.

You sure the noise isn't coming from up front? (driver side front bearing?)

Does the hum change when you accelerate, coast or "float" the driveline by matching your engine RPM to your speed?
