I was checking out some of the tech. section on leaf spring swaps.
Explorer, Chevy 1500, etc.
But no mention of an F-series spring swap.
We have a '95 Ranger sitting on '89 F-150 front and rear springs, using F-150 shocks and all. Sits high rides nice and a simple swap!

Did you have to change the location of the spring hangars?
And how hard was it to do that if you did?

generally no, but the 150 has bigger bolts you want to use as well.

the change in wheel location is negligable.

i have 150/sploder combo on my rig. it allows for elimination of one block in my setup. dont like more then a 3 in block if i can help it.

No hanger relocation or anything direct bolt in on all of it.
Added plenty of clearance for the 31x10.5's without blocks.

yours didnt have larger bolts? or did you just use the ranger size anyway?

i know some are bigger and some the same but dont know the years. just 2wd are 2.5 and most 4x4 are 3 in wide.

I always considered doing a leaf swap for lift... because I could do it cheaper. But I've also thought of just welding up my own spring hangers and making them about 4 inches longer. Can't afford to do the front end if I did though. Whoot for being a poor teenager with a crappy job.

We used as much of the 150 hardware as we could, nothing larger except the lift the springs gave us.
The fitment of the front springs is what surprised me. No modification at all needed.

I heard that you needed to bend the boot to fit them in? If we're both talking about coils..

No bending.
I'll try to get pictures of the set up on the truck.
It even looks stock!

Hey is there a gallery here where I can post pics, from the computer.
