2005 XLT stock.
5speed.
98k miles.
V6 - still runs like a bad outa' hell.

I just wanted to inquire into what needs to be done for my engine @ 100,000 miles.

Before i went to the dealer for their scam. I thought i would ask you folks since you eat, sleep, and breathe these trucks.

Any kind of list of what to Replace/check would be most helpful.

Cheers ,

Pick up a Haynes manual from your local chain auto parts store. They're not perfect, but they walk you through a lot of the basic work, and include a good maintenance schedule to keep track of.

Change the spark plugs if they haven't been done, change coolant if it's been a while, check air filter, fuel filter, PCV valve. That's it for the engine. I would also change the trans fluid and the diff fluids if they haven't been done.

fill the windshield wiper fluid that about it lol

Just keep up with scheduled maintenance. 100,000 isn't a magic number where the truck needs rebuilt front to back. Do the above mentioned for engine, transmission and axles. I'd also give the brakes and rotors an inspection if it's been a while. Maybe clean the battery terminals if they're corroded. Also flushing fluids is a good thing. Like power steering and brake fluid. Other than that just keep your senses tuned to the truck and keep on driving.
