Has anyone ever re-keyed a Ford glove box lock to work with another key? I replaced my stock (non-locking) glove box latch with a locking glove box from a 2001 Ford Focus, and I'd like to re-key it to work with my Ranger key.

Does your existing key fit into the new glove box lock, but just doesn't turn?
If not then they don't use the same type of key
So no

If your key slides in then yes
Problem is you will need "pin sets" to re-key the lock
You wouldn't want to buy a whole set of Ford pins, $150+, so go to locksmith, they will have a whole set, and they can re-key the lock

Simple diagram on how key locks work: https://i0.wp.com/www.wynnslocksmit...019/03/howdoesakeyswork.jpg?fit=750,500&ssl=1

A double sided key just means it will work if inserted either way, not that it has two sets of pins, usually

Lock is disassembled and you remove old pins and reinsert correct length new pins(so you need a variety) to match the peaks and valleys of the Key you have
