This goes back a few years on TRS. Back to the days of “Merlin” I believe his name was, “GeorgiaBII”, “Red” something and a few of the long goners from back around 2000. There was this site you could go to and “rate your rig”. You would type in things such as wheel base, bumper over hangs, tire size, axles, and extras it would have like OBA and lockers. It would then give you your brake over angle and a rating of your rig. It was something like stock, modified, and advanced. I remember the advanced was a diamond with a red outline what said “Advanced” inside it. Then these few had this badge in there signature on the forum.

Does anyone remember this too? I remember Merlin posted a link to it back on one of the older TRS's. I have searched all sorts of stuff to find it with no luck. I want to rerate my rig as the last time I did it I was only modifed and I know im advanced now:blush:

4x4 Junkie and Will I know you where around when this was going down, you remember?

I want my badge:icon_twisted:

Hot damn that’s it.

Just need to go out to my buddy’s house out of town and measure my belly pan clearance.

I must suck as searching the net. For a few months I tried to find this site. Also looks like it has been updated from the last time a saw it many moons ago.

Unfortunately it doesnt have much for RBVs. It doesnt mention the 1354, D35 front end, or any of the RBV trannys. Although the TTB automatically gets the Reverse Cut bonus for the front.

I wonder how hard it would be to update this?

Ya that aspect of it kind of sucks. For tranny, front axle and t-case you need to find the one of best fit. For my tranny the M5OD is most like the AX-15, aluminum case, 5 speed and close gear ratios. Front axle I went with the Dana 44 as I have a TTB 35/44 hybrid. And t-case I had to pick the 1350 but have a 1354 main case on my doubler.

After looking at this again after some time we should have something like this on TRS for RBV’s.

Hm...scored a 363, with a break over angle of 16.64 degrees. :fie:

I don't know how close to actual it is though since I used E4OD tranny with a BW 1350 T-case, and the axles were Dana 44 and 8.8" :dntknw:

But if I put in some of the goodies I would like my truck to have it goes to 852 with a break over angle of 22.95 degrees :clapping:

I remember those days. The rating thing was something Jim was trying to set up, so that it was easier to get a group going for trail rides IIRC.

Jim's rating had nothing to do with the rig rater scores.

That brings back memories...

For us, that was backlash from the infamous Snowball.

Something that this 'rater' dosn't include is a 'toughness' score. Yes it askes about a rollbar/cage. but.....

EG. Todd's rig can be flopped over, swamped, fight a tree, and not be bothered. If I flop I have large side windows that are likley to break, I have carpet in the front I dont want to get *right* full of water/swamp. I am not to worried about scratches and paint, which is a huge advantage, but some guys rigs are just 'tougher' than others.

My wheeling buddy has a toyota that could roll down a hill and all it would do is shake the twigs/leaves/mud off like a dog and keep going!

i got a 780 for the truck when its all together, with a a BOA of 26.96

I'm pretty sure I could smash a stock borrowed FX4 with 33s on it through much more than that rating system would give it credit for. Not giving a damn about the truck surely adds a ton of points.

I managed a 749 point score with a 23.74* BOA as the truck will be when it's finished....but non of this takes into effect the fact I have a solid axle compared to ttb etc.
