Rat Ranger Build

Yes!

awesome work. the only thing i dont see is a volts gauge, but hey, i guess you would know if your truck wasnt charging lol
==========================================
Your right..............I've never been fond of aftermarket volt gauges, as I've seen to many a melt-downs from em:icon_surprised:............

Short story: 80 Toyota longbed 4X4, 2.0 w/less than 10k on it since rebuid, 5spd w/less than 1k since rebuild, 4" suspension lift, 3" body lift, Enkie 15X10 aluminum wheels, NEW 33X12.50X15 BFG A/T's, and topper, totalled via the insurance company...........it had an aftermarket volt gauge that shorted, melted the wires all the way to the battery.............estimate said it needed NEW wirin harness under dash, NEW wirin harness underhood, NEW battery, NEW alternator, and with labor was $2500.........truck valued at $2100, I asked the guy that owned it, who was PO'd and didn't wanta stick anymore money into it, what they would give him if he kept it....he said $1600.........I said take it & I'll give ya the $500...which I did on a Friday, on Sunday, I bought a $3 roll of 10ga wire, ran some of that 10ga wire from the alternator to the battery & fired it up........drove it to work Monday and the guy I got it from was in total disbelief:icon_confused:...............

I drove that truck for 3yrs and when I got out in 92, I sold it for $3500 to a car lot!

SORRY I was so long-winded:icon_twisted:

EXPLAIN PLEASE!

Front suspension moves up & down, whether it be I-beams or upper & lower A-arms...............do they not move in the same way, and are either steered by a steerin box or steerin rack???:icon_confused:

ALWAYS interested in other people/motorheads opinions........
The beams have a different pivot point than the rack/pinion steering rods which will cause bump steer.

I agree, differing arcs of motion will cause toe in/out changes just going down the street.

Been a while>>>>

Funds have been TIGHT, but I gotta set of 15x12 Weld Draglites w/7.5" backspacin yesterday:

Now I just gotta save for the 29x14.50 Hoosier tires.....

I still gotta pick up some centers & lug nuts, after I do, I'll putem on and take some pics to show the clearance.

You're back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

several detroit area 351 cleveland and bb chevy / bb ford swaps were using dodge dakota racks with the tib trucks...

i strongly recommended against that myself....but at least one of them has been that way since the mid 90's so:dunno:....

i have driven one of the clev trucks but never got over 60...on ft street it seemed fine in that range. spooky under then over on diving corners though.

Hey Bobby............

Dakota clips or mountin the racks on a twin I beam setup?

Which one has been like that?

Dependin on the cost, I've been contemplatin doin a 95up Explorer front stub/clip spliced onto my 94 since they are more plentiful after CFC's....

Any input would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!:icon_thumby:

the older dak rack mounted to the ttb k member...there is a early manual version.

They be some WIDE meats:yahoo:, but ain't got nothin to do with the Sony camera I used:D

Believe me, I can't wait to stickem on and see what they look like. I either gotta get my azz movin to get the green 94 back together (YES, I wasn't happy with how it was actin, so I reworked it) or get some nice dry, warm weather to do it outside.

It's too clean to be a rat rod. We've got a genuine ratrod here in town. Front suspension is from a VW bug, radiator is tucked inside a tractor radiator shell, body is a rusty model T ford coupe, no ceiling, junkyard bucket seats, door mechanism is actuated with a 1/2 end wrench welded to the lever, no windows, bed is made from "pecky cypress". Fuel tank is a red painted beer keg, rearend is a Ford 9" from a pickup truck. Power is a blown SBC with open headers and spark plugs to light em off. I'll try to get pics soon.

I red the thread again........Baddad---your not being fair.....you know ********* good & well that you just described 90% of the standard work truks in south Louisiana..........
