ranger wont shift, even when off

I just got the clutch job done on my ranger including the slave. I bled it and everything but the tranny wont shift into any gear even when its off. when i turn on the truck and hold the clutch pedal in, it stays on but it's almost like it's stuck in first gear because it moves just fine when i release the clutch and give it some gas. Any advice?

1. which trans do you have ?
2. any other known issues with the trans before?


My buddies 87 stx was stuck in fourth when he bought it, we got it knocked out and shifted fine for a day or two, then it grenaded the internals after a 4th to 5th shift. So if it is stuck in 1st just be prepared if you get it knocked out of it for more issues, not saying it will, but just be prepared.

I got it all figured out! I ran into an old mechanic i knew and he told me that there are two "alignment Balls" where the shifter sits at and sure enough one of them wasn't aligned with the other. I got a flathead screwdriver, aligned them and bam! started shifting. I'm so happy now, my truck runs way better with the new clutch and slave I just gotta bleed it some more because the pedal is still alittle soft.
