How about my Long bed '84 Ranger? when I buy parts they ask if it's a "S" model, and I say yea. I thought a "S" model was a sport model, not a barebones 2WD model. But my truck is all decked out with EVERYTHING, even running boards and a EXPLORER trim package, and my emblem just says "Ranger".:icon_confused:

If you have an Explorer trim package, your truck definitely isn't an S model.

Your truck is likely a Custom model with an Explorer package.

BUT, if it was a Custom, then my "Ranger" emblem would have the "Custom" wording added to it. I've seen Ranger Customs, and the fender emblems always say "RANGER custom". I would figure if it was indeed a custom, I would have the decals to prove it.

Whatever it is, it had everything, nice truck. (wished it had a four cylinder instead of the 2.8!)

Actually a lot of Custom trim trucks don't have badging that indicates it. My parents had a 1986 Ranger Custom they bought new and the badges just said "Ranger."

Either way, your truck isn't an S model unless it has a 2.0 engine.

i want an fx4, but that helped. i know what im gonna get when i buy my next ranger. personally i never noticed the black bumpers except in sport models. im for the fx4
