ranger trouble

122, Throttle Position sensor below minimum voltage.

That's odd. Has nothing to do with the Mass Air Sensor.

Just because the injectors click doesn't mean the pulsewidth is correct.

Are you certain you unplugged the MAF and not the TPS? MAF is in the air inlet tube between the throttle body and air filter housing.

Here's what we know.

Crank sensor is putting out a signal, that's why the check engine light goes out when cranking.

40 psi on the fuel rail is good.

Compression is likely good because it will run with an external fuel source.

Clicking at the injectors should indicate the PCM is firing the injectors, but we don't know if the pulsewidth is correct.

Your original issue was fuel pump voltage, which seems ok now. Is your replacement PCM correct for the vehicle? Sometimes when you start throwing parts at a vehicle you can install a bad/wrong part and compound the issue.

Does your code puller give you data? I'd be interested to know what the injector pulsewidth and engine coolant temp read while cranking the engine.

injectors are plugged solid. or tank is full of water or bad gas.

I swapped out old ECM and everything is the same ( Iwas just guessing on replacing ECM ) Put new ECM back in same problems . Is a 94 so it doesn't have OBD II just counting flashes of CEL , is there a tester available to pull the info you mentioned . I will mention when the truck was purchased the fuel gauge didn't work , Installed new pump and sending unit :no change: ,replaced whole cluster " no change " That was three years ago , just recently Truck was idling and just quit .

Most Fords that have three-digit fault codes and a MAF sensor have data streaming capability (Ford calls it PID data). Reference this article I wrote a few years back to see if your connector has the SCP wires needed for this:

If so, I recommend something like an Autel AL319/AL329 which has that capability.

That's an affiliate link, I may earn commission on it. Moderators, is that allowed? If not, I will remove.

Anyway, I think Bobby has a good point. Water in the tank or worse, someone may have dumped sugar in it. Might be a good idea to run some fuel in a clear container and let it set for a while to see what happens.

I got what i could out of tank put fresh Gas in it i got the codes from using jumper wire .

the voltage issue can be from the tie in getting bad or relay contacts or just shitty ground.

the injectors actually clicking....fuel psi present....dry plugs seems to point to bad or plugged injectors.

If you have bad gas, it’s still in the rail and fuel lines. I’d pull the rail, check the injectors, and rig a catch can to the fuel line and do key on cycles to clear the fuel line of the old gas.

will this tester work on a 94 model Ranger 2WD

I flushed fuel rail by removing fuel pressure reg after i changed fuel filter before and after i put new gas in tank . Do i have to pull top half of manifold to pull fuel rail ,( first time working on a fuel injector system I quit working in the business in the mid 70's) 94 ford Ranger 2WD Manual trans. 2.3
