ranger transmission

Okay so I need a little help here guys, my 5 speed transmission went out on my 2wd ranger. So I bought another one off craigslist. I didn't know it was a 4wd one though. But I figured I could just put the back housing off of my old transmission on it. But when I went to do it I discovered the shaft was a different size then my old one. Same size on the motor side, but different where the driveshaft goes on. The new one is a tad smaller, I can put the driveshaft on it and it barely doesn't catch. I was wondering if I could replace the yoke on it? If so what size and a link. Or any other solutions would help. Please help it would be appreciated.

No, you need to either get a 2wd trans, or put a 2wd output shaft in the good trans.

Where are you, and what engine do you have? I have a 2.9 2wd M5OD that needs a sex change operation before I can use it. If you are close enough, geographically, I'll do the work to make them work.
