just to see what other people think. how many of yall like ttb suspension and how many like the independent A-arm/torsion bar suspension

i am with ttb for a mild offroad rig because ifs sucks when its took off the pavement. for a street truck ifs isnt to bad

I don't think you will find a huge following for the IFS here.

I agree with adsm, but where are you going to find an IFS following? There only way to lift it is with a cheap body lift, or an expensive body lift that raises the tranny and transfercase. with the body. Kinda makes me shake my head as you don't really get any real articulation benefits.

im all for the t.t.b. front end, id never have a ranger newer then a '97 for that very reason, (that and i dont like the power rack and pinion, give me the old-school power steering box anyday) the ttb could still have manual hubs, is much more serviceable, wheel bearings can be seviced and dont cost the price of a tire when a hub-bearing goes. i think ford really dropped the ball when they went the way of g.m. and changed things to the current torsion bar (or a-arm for the 2wd) setup. ttb was one of the things that defined a ford. btw, the poll thing isnt working for me at the top, shows 2 circles to "click" but nothing beside them, im obviously "for" T.T.B.

Top circle is TTB. It's just white text on a light grey back ground.

ahh, if i look real hard i could almost see it, i truely thought there was a problem with it. being midnight and having been up since 8 am could be part of me not seeing it as well. silly color scheme to have gone for.

I love how smooth the IFS is in my Dakota, on road and off, but the relative simplicity of TTB is awesome.

I get the same two circles with nothing next to them .

its the color scheme, top circle is "for" ttb, bottom is "for" torsion bar/a-arm. its really hard to see, white text on light grey background. it was pointed out to me, i couldnt see it either, even though i know its there now i can only make out a few letters.

I Like both of them... they both have a strong side. I voted TTB because it is simpler though and parts are SOOOOO much cheaper. But for a DD and dirt trail truck IFS has it for me. The ride is so much smoother and handles better.

I used to be hardcore Ttb.

After driving and servicing both....the SLA ifs is my favorite.

If I do ever get around to having an offroad toy again, TTB ifs will be preferable. Or SAS.

But for daily driving, SLA ftw.
