i would like to get a k&n cone air filter like the tech library says to increase power. but there is 2 vaccuum lines that go to the top of my airbox. so what would i do with them? if i just put the filter right onto the intake manifold.

Not for sure, but I believe you can just disconnect them from the air box and connect them together, bypassing the air box.

IF your getting the K&N to increase power, then you're just wasting your money, as it wont do anything.

IF you're getting it so you have a re-useable filter, then I'm ok with that.

hooking the lines together will hold the heat riser flapper open, which you might be removing anyway. A much better route is to remove the tube from the intake and cap it.

I can unplug the vac inlet on my air box and it doesn't effect engine operation on mine. Mine also doesn't have an EGR though.

You could also look at drilling and tapping two ports into your new intake tube so the vacuum lines aren't changed at all. I know someone that did this although it was on a Ford Focus.
