Ranger station saga?

Wow TRS fought back and created a PR nightmare for Ford. That is beyond awesome!

It wssnt so much of a fight but a misunderstanding. I do remember when this happened. I was a relatively new member at the time and had graduated college about 6 months before. All parties involved did a great job of working things out.

Well thats awesome. Like I said I really wasn't here for that.. think it's when I was driving the Gmc Canyon and my TRS peeps hated me for it LOL.. I literally just happened upon that article surfing the web and was like "No effing way not my TRS" than saw Jim Oaks name and didn't know what to do haha.

That is a very interesting article. I am curious as to what these counterfeit items were? There are many items being sold everyday that qualify as counterfeit using the Ford/Motorcraft trademark with no affiliation or contract of trademark use and sales between Ford and the other party.

Im glad things did work out as this site is very useful to Ranger and RBV owners.

scott monty, that's a name i have not heard in a long time

Decals mainly I think.

I still have one of them. :icon_hornsup:

I do remember the big stink, how could Ranger boats and Polaris get by with using the Ranger name? It was almost a scam by the company Ford hired to enforce it.

I was so baffled when that happened!! What about an Army Ranger or a Park Ranger?? Stupid Ford people. My brother-in-law up in Ohio is retiring from Ford next year. He will have over 38 years there. He makes over $90,000 a year with his overtime and incentive's!! He has never owned a Ford vehicle. The wife does. She has a Sport Trac that has had the motor replaced twice and the trans replaced twice. Both times under warranty within 3 years. I will never buy a new Ford ever again.

That isn't the norm...

It was an interesting dilemma..Just a word to you all, keep it nice on discussing this subject. we don't want this to turn into bash FoMoCo. from what I exhumed in refreshing my mind on the subject, that was a pretty intense couple of days for Jim and Ford.

Ultimately, cool heads prevailed, and everything was handled appropriately. It is in everyone's best interest to move on :)

I was not a member here at that time this happend...interesting story.

But I do remember the time frame all this happend when Ford was going after anyone and everyone for "trademark" violations.

Ranger, Ford, Mustang,Thunderbird..etc..it was insanity...
Still not sure how Ford got a trademark on the name "mustang" being there are Living and breathing horse it was name after., or the town of Mustang Oklahoma (around before 1930) or the p51 Mustang aircraft (1940)......etc Seems they would have been the one orginally in violation ...but I am not lawer.

Here was another interesting story:

and another

It was interesting times... Glad everything has worked itself out.

I don't remember this indecent but I do remember when some fat couch potato hijacked therangerstation name and started a new site. That was fun.

Fun and indecent? what could you ask for, 'cept beer and loud music.

to quote Boon Animal House:

Now, she should be good-looking, but we're willing to trade looks for a certain... morally casual attitude.
