Cant weld it. if i do i wont be able to carry heavy stuff in the bed, so the truck will be useless to me.
a welded diferential, 2k pounds or so in the bed on a corner and the axle shafts will snap

I really don't think your 2.5 has the power to start snapping axles, you'll roast your clutch before you do anything like that. Even in a v8 you would need a very, VERY good traction set before an axle would break loose before a tire does. Your truck doesn't have the power and your roads don't have the traction to cause such problems, in my opinion.

U know the adventure i had just to get those damn gears, and possibly destroying the axle is not worth it.
