i remember in '88 or '89 you could get a new S-10 locally with a stepside box, came with a tube rear bumper, most were 2wd reg cab 4 cyl manuals. they seem to have dissapeared though, remember seeing them new on the lot but that was it.

I know this aint an original for but hears my buddys old High school rig. Its a 90 ranger 2.9 auto 4x2 with a 96 splash bed. Also its painted a custom color he got in body shop.

i have only seen one. it was a ex cab 4x4. it had a sas and a v8. nice lift bout 33 inch tires. it was at a car lot for 3900. there one day i drove by gone the next time i drove by. one seen it on the road one time after that then it was gone. that was bout 3 years ago.

There was a member on here before the forum change that had one. He found it in a junkyard and rebuilt it, put in a 302, etc.

What an awesome junk yard find. Do we know it was called a Ranger Shadow for sure?

That's a really nice looking truck too...did he have much trouble with the wiring for the brake lights?

Sorry for bringing this back to life...

But I really wanna know if the gauges in that truck came stock on any other rangers.... I really want "real" gauges with real numbers on them, but I want it to look stock. (I have an 88, with that type of dash) So if there are any other trucks with those style dashes i would love to steel that gauge cluster out of it. .... Only if theyre not too rare though, if they only came in the shadows or other rare rangers then i wouldnt dare steal one.

Anybody know anything about that gauge cluster. (maybe its not even what i think it is and its something he made for it himself??)
