so heres the situation. i have a 2001 ranger 3.0 v6 that has been converted from 4X2 to 4X4. in the process i put a transmission and transfer case from a 2000 ford ranger(5 speed still), as you know the VSS was in the rear axle in 2000 and in 2001 they changed to the OSS in the transmission. so now i have the OSS plug at the transmission with nothing to plug it into therefor i have no speedo and odometer. is there a simple fix to this like running that oss wire to the abs wire on the rear axle. or what are my options? i need to get this done ASAP. thank you.

Looking at the wiring it looks like it was a mid-year change. You may well be able to extend the wiring to the rear axle and use that.

The transfer case may also have some provision for the sensor.

I tried running it back but it didn't work. I guess the sensors send different signals. And the transfer case is the same except the hole is castes so I can't plug anything in
