ranger refit/build thread

You'd just have to get the cam grind right, correct? it would have to be no overlap I think.

Nvm that doesn't work, You'd have to seal off the intake ports up top, and make new ports down low so that it intakes at the bottom of the stroke.

DO IT! Can't be as hard as some of the stuff you've done.

Actually don't, I would rather see a V-16 or X-16 or X-32 made from 460s.

i don't think i'll live long enough to get to that stuff.there's still an amphi-ranger to build, and i haven't even got this thing back together yet.

remember,i still have to fit all this stuff in between keeping a roof over the family's heads.maybe i should just win the lottery:D

You can do the first three all in one.

The latter stuff is a little tougher. But much more important :icon_thumby:

Oh i didn't mean to turn it into a diesel, thats just the only modern example of an automotive two stroke i had. And it can be done without porting, both detroit and mercedes make make valve operated two strokes for industrial applications like generators. The biggest reason for porting is to keep production and maintenance costs down. Its cheaper to cast a block with intake ports and only run half a valve train than it is to do it right. Maintenance is minimized because there are fewer moving parts. Even a ported two stroke relies on the intake charge to aid in exhausting the cylinder. Thats why all real two strokes (not lawn mowers and chainsaws and the like) require a supercharger, and some, like the detroit, make sure it's fed by puting a turbo behind it.

Then again a generator motor never goes much over about1800-2200 rpms. I could see issues reving a valve operated two stroke, especially since you'd still be running nos...

I've been reading this build for the last 3.5 hours n despite my back killing me from a very uncomfortable chair....... I WANT MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely subscribing to this one!!!

just too cool.

suspension on this thing just amazes me let alone the powertrain

Holy......mother.....of....god....this...hmm...truck?...is absolutely amazing. It is the pinnacle of all fabricating genius. Every single one of your ideas should be recorded and sent off to a council for analysis..... genius? god? alien? hero?.....dont think theres a word for it. Thank you for building this. it is too amazing to even comprehend.

there is a word for it.

that word is Gwaii

After going through all 53 pages i want to leave my truck with Gwaii for a week and see what it looks like after

It will look the exact same without funding, and from what I hear, gwaii doesn't come cheap
