Ever thought of utilizing the rear output of the first t-case? Normally i would suggest a direct drive winch or hydraulics or air, since its you i'm scared to think about the things you've considered using it for.
Knowing Gwaii he would use it to run a prop and turn that "truck" into an amphibious vehicle so he could "drive" off the island

actually what i've wanted to do with that is make a trailer with a drive axle that would be powered off that one.it would have 44'' tires and another reduction trans to match at least some of the truck's ratios.
holy cow i just read this from start to finsh every single post and i must say just plan amazing. i love every thing about it. this truck is by far the coolest modded ranger i have seen and i have looked for odd or different rangers. i was wonder if you can help me out a bit with some ideas i have about 2wd ttb with your knowledge i might not have to waste my money but please pm me if you have a few mins. again thank you for posting this truck for all to see it amazing
I've been considering doing the very same once ive got my rig built the difference is i wouldnt need the extra trans since mine would be driven off the rear pinion flange of the rear chunk. But thats a solid year down the road for me....

i always thought that would be a cool thing to do,then having a trailer wouldn't be liability off road.
beyond that i would build it with the same parts as the truck. in my case use a rockwell steer axle on the trailer and simply tie the knuckles off to the chassis (or run hydraulics back there and have it steer with the truck.) then in the event something breaks that cannot be quickly and easily repaired on the trail, tear down and rob the trailer and limp it home or leave it till you can do something with it.
I have a strong working knowledge of steering capable trailers, so I don't think it'd be all that much effort. it can be done without a pump of any kind in the loop, and on its own closed loop isolated to the trailer. in the heavy truck world they typically use a wedge on the kingpin plate that fits into the back of the fifth wheel. as the truck and trailer pivot the wedge operates a ram forcing hydraulic fluid through the system, causing the trailer to steer reactively to the truck turning. coupling and de-coupling procedures are the same as a normal trailer, no need to run hoses, or forget about running hoses....
