Ranger quit tonight

Hello everybody,
I have a problem I hope someone can help me with, my '05 FX4 just quit on me tonight, the engine died and the battery light came on. I still have power to everything and it will crank over it just won't start. Doesn't seem to be electrical more like no fuel, I tried the shut-off switch, but no go. Any help would be welcome, thanks in advance.

did u happen to have any passengers? I know there is a fuel inertia switch on the passenger side under the dash that can be hit and is causing it to not start

Any chance you bought water at the gas pump? That kind of thing happens all the time. If you spray something flammable into the intake, like carb clean, and the engine starts and stalls then you know that it is fuel related.

When you turn the key to ON (before start) can you hear the fuel pump turn on? Is it getting spark. Same thing happened to me not long ago

Thanks guys!! It was the inertia switch. My son's size 13's must have knocked the wire off, I reconnected it and I'm back on the road You guys rock! Thanks again!

Yeah, when rangers break it usually doesn't require any significant amount of money to fix...
