Ranger or other motor in a 91 b2600i?

5 spd m., 4wd, 2600i

...and dumb it down for me. I'm not a mechanic but my brother is. I blew the head on my old b2600i and I'd like to keep it on the road because the frame is good and the 4wd is good -but I want to spend very little money.

We thought it would be easy to find a rusted out or wrecked one with a good motor, but so far no luck.
What other motors can go in it with a minimum amount of effort? What else needs to be changed?

there's a very short list as to what will bolt up to that, because you have a Mazda motor, your best bet is to keep looking for another b2600i motor. IIRC the b2600 (non fuel injected) will not bolt up, and i know for a fact the Bseries 2L and 2.2L will NOT bolt up.
