What does everyone thing of this idea.

A new EB Frame stretched to 111.6” WB and a short bed std cab ranger put on it ?

Body MOunts need fabrication, brake lines, fuel lines but all else should be Early Bronco.

OK let me have it both barrels…

Thank you sir… lol.

SAS your Ranger. It would look a lot less like a cobbled together POS. V-8 swaps bolt in, you can box the frame if you want, body mounts are already there. To me, it would look like an 85 camaro on a k5 frame. If you have an EB frame, put an EB body on it, it will be worth a lot more.

x2

now a days you can swap motors and transmissions with axle combos like musical chairs. :icon_rofl:

and a wide frame on a narrow body looks odd, not to mention your frame rails will be basically right on the edge of your body and you would change the support locations on the cab which in turn could cause stress or vibrations or even sheet metal tearing. unless you do your body mounts inward, but then that just puts shit in the way of your wires, transmission, engine, radiator, Tcase gas tank ect.:icon_surprised:

Wasnt this same exact question asked about 2-3weeks ago?

It may seem like a good idea, but look closely:

-If it does have a v8... Its carb'd.
-If it does have a d44... Its low pinion (even worse, it may have front drum brakes or even have a d30.)
-If it does have a 9" rear (it better)... its not as strong as a 31 spline Explorer 8.8".
-If it will see the road... Its got no overdrive.
-If it does have power steering (optional for most years)... its still the inverted Y steering.
-There are more, but I'm going to bed.

Seems like you have 2 choices... swap a new drivetrain into your Ranger or swap your body onto the Bronco chassis and THEN do all the same work to it.

OK I asked for both barrels and got one at a time, good ideas you have but I was hoping someone was going to come back to me and say they have one and I could get pictures og the areas I think I will have problems with.

I understand the necessary fabrication but I wanted to know how the the two look sitting on the frame to avoid a “cobbled together POS”.

Also, yes the Bronco would be worth more when finished but I do not want a Bronco, I want the Ranger, we will see.

If anyone knows of or has done a Ranger Pickup on EB Frame please post up or let me konw at “nnf000@gmail.com”.

Thanks for the comments and things to think on but I am set on the Ranger/EB Frame idea.

Appears a lot of mating up of the Rangers and the 78 and up frames but not much on the 77 and earlier.

Anyone know of any projects,in the works ?
