Hey i have a 1989 ranger with 120k bought a few months ago and was running good i drove it everyday ,after the first 2 months starting was not a problem but recently it was take a few long cranks to get it started. the other day i was going through a intersection and it bogged out and sputtered and stalled out and had to tow it home. i have spark, and it cranks over but i need to pump the gas like something is starving the fuel, also if intake cleaner is sprayed in it stays running, i took off idle control modulator and cleaned it out and then she ran a little better, just enough to drive it around my neighborhood but if i gave to much gas it would die out but still ran, i replaced the modulator (cost me $100!) because i was sure that was it but after i put it on ran just as crappy,so i replaced the fuel filter and still runs like ass and takes like 10 minutes to get it to even run, im annoyed. i was thinking it was the gas but it didnt happen right away i drove to and from work the day it happened and ran fine rite before it happened. i just need some advice before i spend anymore money. i think im going to drop the tank next but don't want to do it without some advice ,also i don't think its the pump because i can still hear it prime i don't know what to try next any help is appreciated, anyone have any suggestions????
o yea i had to grind off 3 of the six bolts on the bed because they were rusted to hell, and around the fuel pump was filled with dirt, leaves, and rust dust, anyone else have to replace the bolts? i want to know the grade before i go to the hardware store thanks alot
