ranger motor swap

i have a 97 ranger 3.0 and want to drop in a 4.0 (2002). has anyone successfully done this?

Its possible.

But everything is different, motormounts, trans, wireing , everything.

A Carbed 302 with a C4 would the same (if not less) effort and net more power.

A EFI 5.0 would take less effort to put in (a '97), make even more power, and get better milage (especially if you ditched the C-4 for a AOD)

I am putting a carbed 302 and a C-4/5 in mine, but it isn't my dd and it is already carbed.

Also keep in mind that the good old pushrod 4.0 was available in your truck and is far from a slouch.
