Hey y'all I've been on quite the hiatus since I last posted about trying to swap a v8 in my truck. I had another car that I was driving but it lost access to it so I had to depend on my ranger everyday(no swap) now that I a have some green and time again, in looking to swap my speed density out for maf. I already have the maf and ecu from a 96 2.3 ranger 2wd 5 speed. Any parts to get before I start tearing and splicing? Thanks

Once I find out what else I need I will be making a thread about this for future reference.

I would check the Mustang forums for specific 2.3l MAP MAF conversions, there are some success' and failures, lol, I am not a 2.3l guy so can't say why they worked and didn't.

The MAF computer expects other changes and inputs, so, for example, if you were using a 1990 2.3l Computer you would need 1990 2.3l ignition system to feed PIP signal to computer, I believe that was distributorless system.

I'm going to back track for a second. Were some of the svo/tc 's speed density or we're they all mad? I keep rubbing across articles of people switching from vam to maf...

Although the information you need may be on TRS, I found a mustang forum that answers this very question...and clarifies it for someone other than myself...

http://www.stangnet.com/mustang-forums/threads/maf-vam.672348/

You can probably search TRS and find a similar example but I went to google...there is a forced induction section on this site (TRS) but I've only gone there a few times...mainly because I want to resist the temptation to go that route myself...

My 2.5 can be modified for turbo much easier than my carbed 2.3...but I do not really need to go that fast...
