So I just want to get it set straight, for sure...I have been told that a Ford Ranger pattern and a Jeep Wrangler pattern are fractionally different and I've been told that they will interchange, what's the FACTS here? I remember a long time ago that I tried to fit one onto the other and it looked like it was going to go but it was just far enough off to frustrate me...Facts please? Thanks!

I know I have seen Ranger rims on Wranglers and vice-versa. There may be a difference from year to year and I think that the hubs may interfere on some years, but they should fit over the studs.

The wrangler is a 5 lug x4.5
The ranger is a 5 lug x 4.5
I took my rims of my jeep cherokee and now are on my 96 ranger

Cool...I can't remember why mine wouldn't work on whatever I was doing, I just remember that the studs were so close that it ticked me off cause they just would not quite fit...maybe it is something to do with the years...I just wondered because I know where there are lots of Jeep rims and I need a spare or two...Ranger rims are not as easy to find around here...atleast not junk ones...I have read that a Ranger rim is like a 4.(something other than 5) x 5 and I know for sure that a Jeep rim is 4.5 x 5...Thanks guys!

Sometimes the hub centers are different and will not fit without a bit of machining.

Maybe that's what it was...the lugs looked close or right on but I couldn't squeeze it over the hub...hmmm, nothing a dye grinder wouldn't fix, it's just for a spare anyway...

Most cherokee rims have clearance issues versus the brakes on a Ranger

I know chevy rims come really close like the s10's have 5 on 4.75 with looks like it would fit and almost would but they are just barely that far off.

but as far as I know the only difference between jeep and ranger rims is the backspacing and clearance issues.
