Top o the morning to ya,
I'm co owner in a 92, 2.3, 2wd, "24 Hours of LeMons" (Google that for description) Racer. Great fun but I have a problem, other than not enough horsepower. Recently pulled engine to change rear main seal and after reinstalled the engine the tach no longer works. Have checked all plugs and every thing is as it was before.

There is no dash and I have mounted the instrument cluster on the cage dash bar. The tach worked well before as did the volt meter, now neither work.

Any ideas.Thanks

welcome

it's gonna be hard for us to really help with something like that...without being able to see the wiring and stuff. Sounds to me like you cut a wire or knocked off a ground or something somewhere. Just gonna take some time to find it.

I agree with 4.0b2. I had a no start condition due to a plug not being totally connected, and as I had taped it over when I first swapped the motor, thought it was good. Quite a while later I figured it out, the connection o-ring was dry and not allowing proper connection. Perhaps that's what's happened to you.
Good luck,

Richard

I would check to make sure the ground strap from engine to "firewall" or gauge ground got reinstalled, tach and volt meter have that in common.
