As the title states, when I put my 1994 Ranger on my shop's lift, the whole vehicle tilts really far to the drivers side no matter where I put the arms or what spacers I use on them. From what I've read, this may be caused by the fact that the gas tank (full, in my case), battery, etc. is on the drivers side making it heavier. I don't want to risk this thing tumbling off and breaking itself, the lift, and me with it. How do I remedy this when I've got her up in the air?

a few pics would help.

many years ago in a major manufacturers R & D facility they had a strict policy of using large straps to tie the lift arms to the vehicles frame.
I'm sure that at least slowed the decent when something went wrong.

if you're raising it up by the frame the weight imbalance won't matter.
