Ranger is coming back!

Looks like in Name only.

Explorer Sport Trac had same dimensions as T6(international Ranger)

So looks like Ford is bringing back the Explorer Sport Trac and calling it a Ranger

I would not ever buy one of those. That thing is hideous. :bad:
What about this one?

Yeah, over-pricing isn't the only way Ford can screw this up.

They could not offer a V8 option.

They could not offer an ecoboost option.

They could not offer a small diesel option.

Or they could let it go to market looking like this:

Well a ranger is the only thing fit for a king

The Ranger is the only new vehicle I would buy as long as the price is right; however, I will believe it when I see it.

It would be silly to bring back an 18 year old design that was in desperate need for replacement when it was retired 4 years ago.

I still feel as though they needed to just leave a small plant open for us ranger guys ha ha

Manned by TRS members. That way quality rigs would be rolling off the line for off road and street. Boom! (Mic drop)

Ford sent the Ranger away a mere child...like sending your own away to college and not seeing them for five years...and the new Ranger is like what you get fresh out of college...all grown up...and they can either make you proud by applying themselves to a career or they can make you wish you'd spent your money on a facelift and tummy tuck...

I see the new ones as the aggressive child with all the doodads of new technology hanging off them and sticking out of places with their pants down around their asses and they have so much eagerness to do what they want to do and show the world they are worthy...

I like the old style...but with a bit of work the new kids on the block can be useful...

"I like the old style...but with a bit of work the new kids on the block can be useful... "

Only use for both those things called trucks (or worse) RANGERS, is to be laughed at as you watch them roll past you... point and pity the poor schmuck who actually bought one, or even worse... leased it....

UGLY

Angie, I am not sure I understand what you are saying but if it is; Rangers are not a capable vehicle, you are wrong. I started going off-road in a 73 FJ55 Lancruiser in 1977. It took me through some awesome places. In 89, I bought my first new Ranger and have wheeled that Ranger and my current one up to now and beyond. I only do minor modifications and have done everything and more than what I did in the Landcruiser. I have wheeled among many types of vehicles and most had moderate modifications. They have not driven past me and I never held them back nor had to turn around unless they did.

If a Ranger owner has other vehicles rolling past them, they are ether not willing or don't have the skills to keep going. The Ranger with a few modification is very capable and with major modifications is near unstoppable. Is it the best? No, but it is my favorite.

I don't think you understand what I was saying, (or I wasn't clear). I LOVE Rangers. However those 2 new ones aren't in my eyes a truck. Glorified grocery getters or F150 wannabes.

I have been driving rangers since 91 and wouldn't want anything else.

Cheers
