Ranger Gauge Cluster Questions

Is there any way to upgrade a 1994 Ranger gauge cluster to one of a 1996 or newer model ?
I don't like the way the one looks now and prefer the newer model !

I'm not sure there is. If I recall correctly 94 uses a cable driven speedo. I think 96 and up uses an electronic one that runs off the rear axle speed sensor.

I mean, physically it should fit, but I'm not sure it will function.

I guess that means there would be no way to upgrade it without further installation of other parts ?
Let's say I wanted to buy an after markert speedo, I wouldn't be able to us it unless it was cable driven ?

you can make one out of auto gauges. those are nice

and adsm08 i think it is run off the t-case. i know on my 97 the speed sensor plugs into my t-case and that is a manual 1350

It can vary by many options, including transmission, axle, ABS or not, 4x4 or not, etc.

Some run off the T-case, some run off the axle sensor. The point isn't so much where exactly the speed sensor is, but that sometime around the age range he is looking to swap to (I don't remember the exact year) they changed from cable driven to electronic and that changing from one to the other, while possible, isn't just plug and play.
