a big diesel in a 2wd wont be as easy as the sas application but if starting with a sla truck it would be easier then a tib truck

not to be rude or discouraging, but as was said before, If you COULD put a powerstroke in a ranger, you probaly wouldnt need to ask us if it was doable

I dunno about that. My trans swap was well within the range of my skills when I did it. I still spent about two months on here asking questions before I ever picked up a wrench. It's all about gathering as much information as possible before the first part is ever purchased.

This motor comes with a warranty as well but I can't remember all the details off the top of my head. Perezwholesaledistributor.com sells these motors both through there website and I see them on ebay every now and then.

This motor is superior to the 4D55 in almost every way. Besides having more displacement it has a roller rocker head, watercooled turbo and many other upgraded parts. This is what going in my truck when my engine fails.

Just an FYI, I got burned by these guys on one of these new motors. The motor never arrived, it was one excuse and lie after another. I finally got my money back after 4 months but only because I got the California Attorney General involved. I received a refund today minus $500 that he decided to keep saying it was a cancelation fee even though it says noting about this in his policy.
For anyone thinking of doing business with this crook, I highly recommend checking his Better Business Bureau report which is an "F". I wish I had read it before ordering from them.
I have all email transactions if the BB report doesn't convince you.

Same motor for $3800 and a pleasure to deal with. They had the motor to me in 1 week.
