Ranger fuel problem

Travelling in 2014 Ranger xlt towing 21ft caravan. Car stopped and roadside assist needed, great mechanic attended and followed us to caravan park. Replaced fuel filters as very clogged. Car done 80,000kms.
2 weeks later same problem on main highway with nowhere to pull off. Husband managed to bypass fuel filter and got a further 5km before stopping at intersection in a town. Roadside assist again to the rescue and drove it to local ford dealer. Now having new fuel pump fitted and fuel filters ok. Don't expect to have this happen twice on a trip away.
Not sure we trust car to continue trip but have no choice.

what country are you in?
is the Ranger gasoline or diesel powered?

if it is a diesel I would check for algae in the fuel tank.

phtoledo beat me to it. If your Ranger is a diesel, it sounds like you got some bad fuel that contaminated the fuel tank.
