I too am trying to figure out what size tank I have in my 1990 Ford Ranger Super Cab 2.9L.
The build date on the door jam is month/year with NO day listed. Of course mine is built Oct 1989. So it could have been built before the 23rd or after the 23rd of Oct 1989 and thus come with either the 16.3 or 19.6 gal tank.
I called Ford Support and they can not determine build date from the VIN. They also tried looking up the part number with no luck.
I ordered a build sheet for $17 that should tell me but it will take 6-8 weeks to arrive.
I crawled under the truck and found these numbers on the tank:
FO7A-9002-FO
44ZC-859-JO
Google was no help sorting out the parts numbers.
Does anyone know what size tank I have from the part numbers? Can someone post the part numbers for both tanks?
