i have 2 rangers one's a '91 it has a good frame and crappy body. the other is a '93 has a good body and bad frame can i just swap bodies from frame to frame or did they change in body styles? I'm looking to do this for a winter hoopie for my dad..

i think that frames are the same.
but lets wait until the guys who know chime in

there's 2 trucks dad found for $500 for both and is willing to gamble but I'd be scared to end up with a pile of parts.

Winter project?? More like a long weekend project. With a few friends to help with the heavy lifting this swap should be an easy one. Probably the most time consuming part will be fighting the frozen, rusty hardware. I'd strip the Ranger with the good frame first. That way you have a place to drop the good body. Plan ahead so you dont have to pick up the heavy stuff more than once. Good time for a body lift if you were tossing around the idea. Also, a good time to blast and coat the frame. Try to have all the necessary materials ready to go or this may become a winter project:) Keep us all up to date on your progress.

the good news is the '91 is a runner right now the body is rusted beyond hope the '93 is motor-less and the driver side frame rail is broke in half behind the cab so it's torch time.:icon_welder:

I believe there was some differences (crossmembers?) from a four cylinder to a six cylinder.

i was more interested in body mount locations since the drive train wouldn't be taken out.

1) I tend to exaggerate my estimates. Take your time. It's not a race, unless you make it one.
2) Careful with the oxy/acetylene torch. I see you list "fire calls" in your description. Don't become one of those calls! Carpet and stuff can ignite without direct contact with the tip.
3) Have fun! I'm sure that if you run into trouble, TRS members can help.

tks for the advice i was just using the heat to aid in Mr impact..:headbang:

sems like the mounts will be in the same positions, if its the same configuration of course. both reg cabs short wheel base or both long wheel base reg cabs or ext cabs

both trucks are short bed reg cab 4cyl stick

the guy to wake the #$%^ up so i can get them.lol

Front bumper mounting will be different....the 93 has the crumple zones in the front frame horns.
