I put a K&N FIPK into my truck last night. I absolutely love it. I do notice the horespower gain, but what I really love is the noise I get out of it. It was a total surprise that I would get that much noise out of it. It sounds awesome.

Now all I need to do is get a new exhaust on it. My friend put a delta 40 series on his 03 Tacoma. It sounds great and all, but he calls is a "new exhaust." As far as I'm concerned, its a new muffler. It dont think its a new exhaust until I take the stock one off and put a bigger one on. I want the sound, and the performance.

Does any one have any suggestions and experience with putting a new exhaust onto their ranger. Ive got an 02 3.0. I'd like to do it myself, and avoid paying for labor. What are the bolt on kits like. Are they fairly easy to install, and most of all, how do they look? Does the tip bolt onto the exhaust or is it pre-welled onto the exhaust. Also, is it durrable? I wouldnt want to spend hundereads of dollars on something and have to start falling apart after five years.

Any one with ideas, whos got the best and cheapest?

I have the LMC Truck Cat-Back Performance Dual Exhaust System With Resonator Tips, I like it because it was $200, dual exit, and loud. If you want to hear it go to Youtube and search Danger2006Ranger, or you could click the link in my sig, and go to my vids.

if you go for a stainless steel exhaust make sure its fully stainless and not just plated on the outside...otherwise it'll rust and fall off in a year...just my .02!

i love my gibson swept side, sounds awesome (louder than stock, but not too loud) definite increase in performance and a very high quality kit. cost was about $300 and it includes good instrutions, i did it in my driveway in a little over an hour by myself. it was actually harder to take the old exhaust out than put the new one in, i will definitely put this system on my future rangers.

I've got a flowmaster 40 series on mine, it sound like a 289, i would definitely go flowmaster
Almost time for me to get a new exhaust system, this one is 7 years old, i guess that maybe the reason it sounds so good
