my buddy was out 4 wheeling in his ranger and while he was backing up his passenger opened his door and caught his door and pulled it back and was caught right away but now seems to have the alignment of the door off just a little and it opens just a little further any idea if the brackets r messed up or what is so it can get fixed

The door frame is probably tweaked where the hinges mount to it. My guess is the door gap on the rear is now too tight. Theres 2 ways to correct this, one adjust the hinges at the A-pillar (on the cab) to shift the door forward. The second would be a cheat and a trick of the trade, put some thing such as a block of wood, a socket or such in the hinges as you close the door, this will twist the door frame back and actually fix the real problem. If you tweak it too much and make the gap too big simply open the door stretch it forward in the same matter as what originally caused the problem. Its a lil tricky at first but a nice trick to know when you get the hang of it. Good Luck :icon_thumby:

it actually seems like the door is just sittin a fuzz to far foward should that same trick fix that

Your going to want to use a small chunk, say about 4" long or so.With the door wide open take that piece and put it in the hinge so it jams and can't close all the way. If I had a decent camera anymore I would take some pics to help out. And remember, when you jam the hinge and close it you widen the gap, when you over-open the door you close the gap. Also, you only need to jam the hinge when you close it. Hope I helped clear this up.
