should i have any problems putting a 94 ranger cab on my 86 bronco II frame i know i've seen it done with the older cabs?

As long as you remember "Anything can be done..." with enough time, money, and energy...but some things are just not worth going to all the trouble...while others are worth ten times that...

Yes, it can be done...biggest problem is the shape of the frame (as in where it rises and dips compared to the older frame) and where the mounts are located...

In some cases you can get around the shape of the frame by simply putting a lift on the cab...but the mounts will have to be relocated...

Once you get the frame under the cab things will start to make sense...just make sure you measure things properly before committing to welding or bolting on the cab mounts...

Look at teh two frames next to each other, compare them as Mark_88 stated.

You might be able to make some frame adapters (if needed) before the '96 body is mated to the early frame.

I am going to say this but not to change your mind just another thought, I know you have the '86 Bronco frame and that counts for a lot but if you can find an earlier frame say, '74-'76 Bronco, now that would make a short Ranger an awesome setup. 9" rear, D44 front all setup, all kinds of lift options available.
A buddy of mine did a Bronco II on an earlier '74 Bronco frame, the thing fits like it was made for it, he got a write up in a truck magazine out of it, and it worked great. I think he changes the body every fall to keep things looking good.

Luck on the Ranger/Bronco II setup, anything can be done...

I have a dana 44 up front out of a bronco and a dana 60 in the rear and the v8 swap so im to far into it to do that.

are any of the mounts going to line up it looks the radiator support are the same.

Is an older cab going to pretty much bolt on?

I went the stupid simple route. 91 regular cab on my 90 B2 frame. Only the rear most cab mounts need to be relocated. And the wiring was as easy as plug in and go play.

i think im going to do the 89-92 cab. if i do an extended cab will that just bolt right on or do i have to still do the rear mount?

the rear cab mounts should be the the only difference, should be about the same as the older cabs...

i go back and forth between just cutting the top off or putting a ranger cab on it.
anyone got an idea on which way i should go?

I would go with the extended cab on the bronco frame...there are pics of one on this forum somewhere or a link to it...very nice truck...only had to trim a bit off the back to make it fit too...

That is actually what I was thinking about doing at one time...

I vote chop the top, always loved the look. I've always thought a YJ or TJ rollbar could be adapted fairly easily also... If you want the enclosed cab look, graft on the Ranger rear window. The ultra-short bed ranger looks way cool

Here's my buddy's reg cab ranger on a B2 chassis with fullwidth d44 front and 9" rear.

He had to make his own rear cab mounts, that was it.

I tried searching for it...but last time I mentioned this vehicle someone else had a link to the truck page...and I can't remember where it was...

It was lifted and painted red, white, and blue...and had a 5.0 in it...beautiful truck...but it had a really short bed on the back...maybe someone else can remember it and post a link...or I will stumble on it about five minutes after I post this and come back to edit...
