Are the tranny's in rangers and bronco II's interchangeable without any changes. ive been told they arent yet i hear of people who have done it. so if they do need alittle modification what is it? and on another note what did the v47a tranny come in? its a manual and its sittin in my buddies shop...

and just fyi im trying to put a ranger tranny into a bronco II so im wondering how hard its gonna be. thanks

The differences are more relevent to the motors than the vehicles. The transmission section of the tech library will answer all your questions.

No changes...unbolt the ranger trans, and install in the B2. Or vice versa.

Yes, its really that simple.

Where changes start happening is when you get out of the "generations".

Ranger Gens.
Gen I.....83-88
Gen II....89-92
Gen III...93-97
Gen IV...98-02
Gen 5....03-07
Gen 6....08-present

Bronco II Gens
Gen I....83-88
Gen II...89-90

It is my understanding that the gens are based more on motor changes. Yet each gen saw a major body style change.
