Ranger and TRS Newbie

Hello All,

As my name states I'm From RVA (Richmond, Virginia) , I just purchased a 1994 Ranger with a slipping trans , and found this forum while researching.

I am currently looking for a better, less or non slipping, A4LD transmission so I can take the current one out and learn how to rebuild one.

Or if anyone knows , will the newer 4R44E transmissions fit and work properly?
