Ranger 6 cd player Not Playing

We have a remote 6 cd changer in an extended cab 1996 Ranger. This is the first time to use this unit since I purchased the truck. I installed 3 factory cds after figuring which way to turn the cds and where to put them in the slots of the magazine. You can hear the changer loading the discs and after about 5 seconds of each being loaded the head unit will display "NO CD" and then go back to playing AM/FM radio. What is the problem here ??? I know someone else has experienced this same problem. This board is Great so I know the answer is here somewhere. THANKS.

Is it a factory Ford stereo?

The 6 disc in my wifes Escape does pretty much the same thing except it doesnt display anything before it goes back to the radio.
