Ranger 2.9 got me stumped!

Hey guys so I recently bought a 90 ranger with the 2.9 thinking all it needed was to be put in time. But after timing it rebuilding the distributor a new coil and a new battery there is no fire from the coil but ive got power to the plug to the coil. It wont start with or without the spout connector plugged in. Im about to test the plug to the icm which im pretty sure i tested the other night and they were good. If its not wiring what could it be!? lol any advice is greatly appreciated

sounds like a tfi to me, start here and work your way through the troubleshooting.
