random warning beeper

At random times throughout my drive i get 5 sets of 5 slow beeps from some buzzer. it sounds like a seat belt warning or a door warning or something. if any one has any idea what it is and how to stop it i would appreciate it.

does your check engine light come on when you just turn the key onto the "on" position like it should? someone may have taken your bulb out. if thats the case there is a little beeper, in the dash near the radio

theres no beeper in place of the CEL?

im going to guess that the door ajar switch is sticking like they are notorious for doing on that generation of truck. try opening the door and spraying the latch down really well with your favorite spray lube. try and get it above, behind, and under the latch...be very liberal.

am i thinking airbag? maybe explorers different? i had that happen on my 96 explorer, cant remember if it was the airbag light or cel? but i remember it happening. .......am i high? lol

i dont think the dinger dings along with either the airbag or check engine light. it beeps with the seatbelt light...maybe thats what your remembering?

no, when the bulb was removed.

i guess its possible. i wasnt aware the PCM had the ability to detect a load on the CEL circuit

well, my check engine light is on all the time because my egr valve or sensor is bad, my seat belt light goes off as soon as i click the seat belt, and my airbag light is acting like its supposed to. i will try the lube in the door latch tomorrow or just find the dinger and clip the wires. thanks for the help. let me know if any one has any more ideas.

Check gage light on? Are the guages in reading hi or lo?

Sounds to me that its the door switches.. There isnt a chime for the CEL or the Airbag lites.

isn't the door dinger usually a fast beep. this is a slow set of beeps plus my dome lights go off like there supposed to, and i dont get a door ajar light on my panel.

i sprayed the hell out of my door latches. as soon as i turned my truck back on the dinger started up. i guess ill just live with it.

you could always pay the hour labor to have the ford shop hook the computer up and see whats causing the dinger...

or..... find where the beeping is coming from, find the biggest hammer you have, and "fix it" (wear safety glasses)
